| North Country
Harley-Davidson was founded in 1968 in a small garage at
the residence of the founder. It was moved in 1970 to a
small 3000 square foot wood frame building on Rt. 3 in
Augusta, Maine, approximately 5 miles from the center of
town. In early 1985, after the passing of the original
founder, the dealership was sold, and the business was
renamed Augusta North Country.
In 1993 the old building was torn to the ground and a
new 8,800 square foot designer facility was built.
Business boomed and in 1994 a new 3800 square foot parts
and service area was added as well as a 4,000 square
foot storage facility. The dealership now operates with
a total of 16,800 square feet.
In 1994, North Country's
newly completed designer store was chosen by Dealer News
Magazine for its "Best Theme" award for
interior design. The store is an indoor mini-mall
with cobblestone sidewalks, a stone bridge, street
lights, etc. A touch of old "New England"...
In 1999
North Country Harley-Davidson was purchased by the
current owners, Calvin and Troy Reynolds. Calvin and
Troy are second cousins and have over 45 years in the
motorcycle business. Troy is the General Manager in
charge of day to day operations while Calvin oversees
the big picture of this as well as his other two
dealerships in Gorham & Portland, ME.
